Meh, I know, it's been awhile. Holidays and shit has prevented me from keeping up with writing prompts. BUT I am now in a creative writing class so hopefully I will be able to produce something worthwhile this quarter.

Describe your workspace in vivid detail. What items are on your desk? What pictures do you have on the walls? What does your trash can look like?

Okay, well I have a wooden desk and currently just about every inch has something on it. There's a podium/shelf thing in the upper lefthand corner where I keep binders, books, notebooks and my calculators. There's a small blue lamp right next to my bed. In front of it, there's a picture of me and my beautiful friends from the first Harry Potter movie. I draped a purple ram charm from San Francico and a Chinese luck necklace over the lamp, and my stuffed Menchi doll is draped over the photo. I also keep my hugeass Jane Austen book my dad got me for Christmas on my desk, for latenight reading. Then, there's my old jewelry box, which has some sundry crap in it. Next to that, I have two photo frames, one with a not-so-great picture of Neha and Olga (should really change that...), and one with me and my brother from when he was little. There's a post-it dispenser which I don't know how to work correctly and a origami-paper made cube. Also, a cup of pens, pencils and a pair of scissors. I also keep the cow radio Nicole gave me last year on my desk, as well as random notebooks, rings, my Japanese flashcards, tape, stapler, Kleenex...yeah, there's TONS of crap on my desk. But it's not messily organized surprisingly. It's orderly chaos.

Prompt #3

Your family gathers for the holidays and you're looking forward to the feast. At the table, grandma--who knows you hate being the center of attention--asks you to stand up and name the five things you are most thankful for. Instead of the usual, you decide to name a few silly things. What are they?

1. Bubble wrap, because it is so satisfying to hear those little pops.
2. Sales-there is nothing more gratifying than finding a good deal on some great shoes/clothes.
3. My cat's purring-nothing is more comforting.
4. Benedryll-can't sleep otherwise, some nights.
5. Podcasts-working out would be impossible without entertainment.

Breakdowns can be very helpful and cathartic, I've learned.

Prompt #2-

It’s the holiday season, and you still have a lot of shopping to do, so you’re skipping work. Your boss, who won’t accept, “I’m not feeling well,” as an excuse, requires a more outlandish reason. Write an excuse that begins, “You’re not going to believe this, but ...” and ends with the phrase, “ ... and that’s why I can’t come to work today.”

"You're not going to believe this, but my mom called and a relative is sick, so I have to fly home for the holidays. You can't get in the way of family, and that's why I can't come to work today."

Short and sweet. :P

So yeah, it's been forever since I've posted. This is a cross-post from my LJ, but I figured it's more at home here.

Writing prompt #1
Prompts are taken from [link] This is just an attempt to get me writing.

Today's Writing Prompt: If you could invite any three people to dinner (dead or alive, famous, fictional, etc.), who would they be, why and what would the topic of conversation be?

Person #1: J.K. Rowling.

Person #2: Joss Whedon.

Person #3: Golda Meir.

Reasons: JK Rowling and Joss Whedon are my two idols. If I could ever be half as successful as either of them, I would be content. After all, last I heard JK Rowling makes more than the queen of England. I would love to personally hear some of her insights about the Harry Potter world, although I am quite sure if this ever happened, I would be utterly shell-shocked.

The situation is quite similar with Joss Whedon. Firefly and Buffy and near and dear to my heart, and I never ceased to be amazed by his sheer brillance. Not to mention he is just naturally a funny person in any situation, a quality I wish I had. Just to be in either of these people's prescence would be amazing.

Now, I saved Golda Meir for last, because she is a bit more personal. She was my mom's idol, and because of her revelance, I have thoroughlly researched her life and background. She just did amazing things for a woman of her time and age. And she has hundreds of inspiring/ironic quotes. She was just an interesting person.

I suppose I already touched on the topic of conversation with these, but most likely we would discuss their successes in hopes of inspiring something inside of me to have my own. With Joss and JK, I'd like to discuss the writing process and how to stay interested.

First final tomorrow and its CHEMISTRY. Excuse me while I scream.

I had a serious workout today so I am exhausted. I am definetely going to bed early and then studying more before 10:30 AM. Even worse, I have another at 1:30 (Animal Science) which I have resigned myself to only halfway study for, since my B is pretty solid in that class.

Widgets are very useful. Have you guys heard of them? They are basically small programs you can use right on your desktop. I use the picture frame (as I have a very extensive collection of fanart and pictures of my friends), the weather bar (so I know how to dress) and now, the notepad so I can make to-do-lists and attempt to be productive. Someday I'll post a shot of my desktop so you can all see.

I already studied so now I'm chilling out to Pottercast. I'm serious about the story requests-if you want one, just ask.
